“There is no place like Pekes Estate! My friends and I have visited Pekes for 8 years (7 years in a row pre-COVID, and recently for the May Bank holiday 2026 during the heatwave). In all those years, the whole estate has never looked so beautiful as it did this year … There is something truly magical and unique about Pekes. From doing a lot of party planning for my friends over nearly 20 years or so, I’ve never come across an estate that offers so much with so many facilities. I know the houses can be rented individually, but renting the whole estate, for us, feels like a slice of heaven. We always feel right at home. I can’t recommend enough hiring at Pekes, if it’s individual houses, or the entire estate, you can be guaranteed that you will visit no place like it on earth! We can’t wait to return again soon!”

“We had our family Christmas at Pekes. This is our 4th year staying at Pekes with four generations of our family plus two dogs for a Christmas weekend. It was fabulous and it’s now a firm tradition in our family with 36 of us staying. The children can’t wait to come and visit the “Christmas House”, as they call it. We had the main house, the Wing, Tudor View and the Oast House. All were very clean, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. There is so much space available. Everyone loves the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place to anyone for a large family gathering.”

“Peaceful Retreat. We stayed here as a family group of nine, plus dog. The Oast House was every bit as characterful as we’d hoped. There was plenty of space for people to be in separate rooms if needed, and the bedrooms were light and airy. The location was a wonderful retreat from the buzz of everyday life and we literally didn’t move the car from the moment we arrived on Friday until we left on Sunday. The on-site facilities were a great bonus; jacuzzi and very warm indoor pool, as well as tennis courts and country walks. We also spent the evening with the firepit going and star gazing, which the teenagers loved. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater for everyone and plenty of space to put things. We had a great weekend, would definitely recommend and will no doubt be coming back. Thank you.”

“We stayed for my 70th birthday. 8 adults and 8 children. We had the most wonderful time. The Manor House is beautiful, with lots of information about it. There were plenty of cooking facilities and more than enough knives, forks, colourful crockery and seating for us all. The children loved the swimming pool and really enjoyed it, as well as the jacuzzi and the play park. They were age 3 to 11. Everyone said they had the best time ever, and it was such a comfortable place to be. Not having other people around like in a hotel was brilliant. Thank you Pekes!

“A fantastic stay – already thinking about our next! We stayed at the Oast House for two nights in early June. I had booked it for a low-key bridal shower and everyone’s jaws were on the floor when they turned out. The house and the grounds are very well kept and everything is idyllic. You feel transported to another world. The customer service has been fantastic and all dealings with owners and staff have been brilliant. Would highly recommend.”

“Four very enjoyable days at Pekes Manor. Sixteen members of my extended family with ages ranging from 9 to 76 had a very enjoyable stay at this beautiful, grand, house, dating from the 15th century. Within minutes of our arrival the children and adults were playing in the warm pool. The sleeping arrangements were perfect and very comfortable. The grounds and the view from the house over the surrounding countryside were magnificent. Communication with the owner, Kildare Borrowes, was easy, prompt and effective. Bernie, one of the staff helpers was on hand to answer questions and provide help when needed with setting up the karaoke and repairing a toilet cistern. There is much to do in the local area, including a visit to an excellent local brewery, the Six Bells at Chiddingly, and The Gun pub and restaurant is within walking distance.”

October 1, 2020 Charming Oast House - Our family of seven, two adults, three children and two grandmas, stayed in the Oast House for a week. The house was immaculately clean with large living areas, well equipped... read more kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Oast house is an old house with charm and character but some of us complained about the old plumbing and the low pressure in the bathrooms. It didn't bother me, it was part of the authentic experience.
The secluded private garden at the house is very large, plenty of space to play around for the kids. We had our own Jacuzzi. It needed a clean but someone came straight away to do that.
The swimming pool at the estate is a few meters away, it was nice and warm, very good for playing around and even for a swim.
The kids enjoyed spending time at the playground and there is a tennis court to use as well.
There are lots of walk from the house and plenty to do in the area with a short drive away.
Overall, it's a really nice place in a beautiful setting. We'd be back again.

The huge green space at the back makes you feel out of the world, the barbecue space is fantastic.

What a privilege. The Manor House is full of charm, character and romance. The kitchen has every utensil, plate, bowl and serving dish you will ever need.
The place was spotless and inviting.
The pool, warm and lots of fun.
There is a games room with lots of equipment needed.
Gorgeous from both the outside and inside. Local areas to walk and run.
People have not stopped talking about Pekes houses.
The hosts are friendly and accommodating. Cannot wait to return.

There’s a nearby pub (The Gun) which has an excellent selection vegan and gf friendly food (as well as all the usuals).
Best of all the management were very responsive to emails and helpful. And even came round to check we had everything we needed.
Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

To the kids it was like 2 holidays in one. So I could earn those valuable family points!!!!
Well starting with the Gate House, what a beautifully quaint, traditional home. This is a perfect venue to spend time with the kids and our young four legged friend. The gardens are well fenced when we need to throw the excited one out for his own space!!! The property is perfectly set out for a small family who get on well.! Thankfully I had booked the bigger venue for the next few nights stay.
To clarify, my children are lovely and I have the perfect family. But after 3 days with them in a confined space, I need a bit of R&R. So off to the heated swimming pool it is, topped off by the Jacuzzi and Sauna. All of which are available to guests of Pekes Manor.
So we have just moved in to Tudor View, and we love it! The layout is quirky! Tho when I leave for work at 5am tiptoeing thru the kids bedroom to get to the kitchen, I am not sure how that will go down with the missus when I wake them up!!! I will update shortly!!!!

Our... read more wedding was amazing and all 140 guests kept commenting on how beautiful the whole site is. Each house was fabulous with the Manor House in particular being stunning. The swimming pool, sauna and hot tubs were the icing on the cake. Pekes manages to get the perfect balance of feeling homely and relaxed with the right amount of luxury. I can’t recommend Pekes enough!!

We had an amazing time using the wide range of facilities set in lovely grounds. The staff were very friendly and addressed immediately the one or two small issues we had.
