Meet the Team

Kildare and Sarah
Pekes Managers

They have been coming to Pekes often for a very long time, and took over the full management after Kildare’s cousin Eva died in 2022. Kildare is especially interested in gardens and history, while Sarah, a painter, assists in many things at Pekes.

Elaine (with Betty), Tina, Ann, Marie
Pekes Housekeepers

A very hard-working group who work as a perfect team with very high standards. Their coffee and lunch breaks are full of fun & laughter (and often delicious cakes). They have been coming to Pekes for a combined total of 55 years – phew!

Amy
Weddings & Events Manager

who has fantastic powers for getting things done, especially on ‘the Big Day’. Always busy, but always fun.

Tom
Pekes Gardener

A man of great energy & resilience; he’s out there in all weathers or, if really bad, in his greenhouse or potting shed. If you like Pekes gardens, he’s the man to congratulate.

Bernie
Facilities & Maintenance Manager

An ex-policeman who refreshingly says ‘There are no problems, only solutions’. Pekes is an old place which presents many problems, but thanks to him they all get sorted.

Kathy

Arranges fresh flowers in our houses every week, and usually meets and greets our guests the day after their arrival. She’s been associated with Pekes for very many years.

Pekes Chickens

They live in the walled garden and give us and our guests lots of really delicious fresh eggs, and entertainment.

They are successors to a very long unbroken line of fowl at Pekes, including in the past ducks, turkeys and guinea fowl, going back probably hundreds of years.
