My grandfather created the garden in the early 20th century, and also built the walled garden. It was later looked-after and developed by my parents, and has been subsequently by me.
There is quite an extensive range of beds, shrubs and trees all around the grounds including various old fruit trees. The walled garden grows vegetables and also houses our small family of chickens. Their fresh eggs are often available – free of charge.
Pekes is well-known for its pots and tubs through the summer, and we hope guests will enjoy them. We have a small team of part-time gardeners who each have different responsibilities and who love working here. Do please say hello to them!
